SCAM - This just called my mobile. Automated voice telling me a criminal case has been brought against me for tax evasion. Press 1 for more info... Obviously I did not press 1 to continue. Beware
Original call number came in as V21309255500012, when picked up and answered, no response, just silence. After hanging up, hit CID button (caller ID) and the new number was revealed as 1-778-555-0161, a number from British Vancouver.
Think this is PPI or some kinda marketing BS, call last week from it

I have had numerous calls from this person/company over the last few days. When I answer, they put the phone down, they never leave a message and when I called them back, I got an annoying automated message of the person on extension ..... (Some long random number) is not available. I have rated them untrustworthy as I find this very odd. What kind of reputable company doesn t have a voicemail message FIRST stating the company name? Just had a call for this number - an automated message saying it was from HMRC and my name was linked to fraud. I had to press 1 to be connected to an advisor. Failure to do so would mean I would be arrested.....I'll take that risk.

This company uses various combinations of telephone number. I just let the answer phone kick in. If I recognise the voice I then answer, can have 6 -10 of this type of call a day. I do 1471 and keep a note of all the numbers and then check them out on Google.

Claims to be from Credit Fraud Investigation for UK Loans. Asked for my Partner and wanted private information, told them to hold the line so he did for 9 minutes. Went to fetch partner who wasnt here anyway. Then he said i could help and i said why should i. Became abusive told him to get a real job.
Called at 5:15pm 6.7.23. Calling about solar panels being installed in your area and are you the owner of the house. I didn't go any further, just said 'Goodbye' and put the 'phone down. I am pretty sure that had I held on they would have wanted to arrange to come and see property about installing solar panels. I class this as 'dangerous' especially if they get through to vulnerable persons.

No idea why they called me. I wouldn t offer my details to a random caller asking for them so they wouldn t say why they are calling. My advice is to challenge their claim who they are. Websites, letters and phone calls prove nothing. They ll soon go away if they re not getting anywhere.
