A caller with heavy Asian accent told me he was calling from Visa fraud investigation line. Said my Visa debit card has been used for 2 fraudulent transactions with Amazon and Western Union. I told him I had 2 Visa debit cards and asked which one he was talking about. He asked me what banks they were with and i said if he was from Visa he would know what bank the card was with. They appear to have changed tactics - they now phone claiming that I m due compensation because of illness on holiday in the past 3 years. This hasn t happened and I asked them how they got hold of my number - they said from my holiday company, which is strange because I always put a no against any desire to share information with a 3rd party. When I said I was inTPS and would sue them if they called again, they said l couldnt do that...hilarious. when I asked for their name they hung up. Avoid.

Call tonight claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and asking if I received cold calls. A man with an Asian accent on a crackly line in a call centre then informed me that my subscription was about to expire. Clearly a scam so I told him what I thought of him and hing up. The number is not registered - is it not time that the phone companues filtered calls from unregistered numbers to stop this sort of abuse as it is untraceable.

I asked if it was a cold call, and he said "No, I need to speak to you about the registration of the electricity account". I asked him to confirm to me which company we are with before I would speak to him - i.e. to identify himself - he said bear with me, put me on hold... I hung up. Probably Scam.
