Somebody rang and left a message saying they were a Case Officer from HMRC and to press 1 to discuss my case
Received a call from this number appertaining to be from Amazon asking me to confirm/cancel a purchase of £99. When I said cancel she asked me what device i used so she could send me a cancellation form? I said i was away from my computer but she said she would wait on the line until I was in front of it. She quoted my correct address but I didn't feel happy so ended the call.

I used ring back - not a good idea on reflection. The male voice asked my name and so I asked his. He said "Roger". I felt this was a bit inadequate and so asked again at which point he got stroppy: "I ve told you". I hung up.
It s a hospital, the number probably doesn t take incoming calls. See Charlie s comment from earlier in this thread, it gives you the switchboard number.

SCAM - didn't recognise the number so I rejected it.. Straightaway I had an electronic voice mail advising it was HRMC and I needed to call them back other wise I would need a solicitor and face legal proceedings. They obviously think I was born yesterday!

Been getting calls from this number over last few days so called them back. First a woman answered, seemed like it was the last thing she wanted to do and told me the line was bad so she would call me back. No call back so I called again. A man called Joshua stated he was from Lotto Social and would like to offer me 5 free Euro Millions lines for tomorrow night (24/04/2015). Same story. About a road accident I had but caller was from Liverpool and they used an 01462 area code. Trying to get me to claim for unnecessary whip lash etc, I suspect. Blocked.

Although this number is displayed our phone says it is international. nCaller says they are from BT but hung up as soon as we said they were international.
Old scam. Claim to be from BT Openreach saying there is a problem with broadband causing damage to devices but they can fix it for you. Just a scam to get info, passwords or even put spyware onto your device. Just hang up on them and warn others that this scam is going around again.
