The caller asks about what phone brand you own and how much monthly you pay for your mobile plan, tells you it is too expensive, and then offers you a 40% discount for a different plan, and tries to get your personal details. To me looks like a scam scheme.

The number 01736 735261 called me about 10.30am 28/06/23 and it was a recorded message from an International Banking service stating I had made a payment of £300 to Amazon and £1100 to another provider. Told me to press 1 if correct and 2 to speak with an adviser. Pressed 2 and answered by "This is Officer Stephen, how can I help". When I asked which organisation he represented the phone went dead.

This person claimed to be my child who had smashed their phone and wanted me to WhatsApp this number, which I didn’t do. They said they had called from a friend’s phone 07599569709 which was about to die. This is terrible preying on parents. I don’t know what would have happened if I clicked on the number. Missed call from this number. I called back and very insistent gentleman wanted to.know who I was, saying he had received multiple missed calls fro my number. I checked my phone history and I have not phoned his number. Tried to get information from me, name, location. I d3clined and have now blocked his number and reported to my provider.
