This is the UK version of a scam running amok in the US. The supposed company, microsoftechs.com, contacts people and claims there is an issue with their computer. The claim to be partnered with Microsoft and gain confidence with all the classic scam talk. If you do get scammed, they will access your computer via remote access, go through your email, install software and who knows what else. I believe an AI automated scam system, that responds to your response. I think you are talking to a computer generated voice, I hear "Hi this is John from the driveway company" or close on. Serious scam, I get repeated calls daily.

I remembered Chris had hung up on me last time he called. I questioned whether it was true that they were doing an energy for everyone who lives on our road. If he knew where I lived he'd realise what a stupid approach that is.

Offered nuiscance call blocking service. Claimed to be from National Call Blocking Registry but this is an American government service, not BT. I decided to let her call back tomorrow. Meanwhile block the number.
Had a couple of calls from this number, and one from a similar number. Claim to be British Gas, saying there s been a change in the way I top up and they want to check that the supply is ok etc. I called BG from a number on the BG website, they checked and told me that these numbers are NOT BRITISH GAS. Recommended I add them to my block list, I suggest you do the same.
