Had a Call from this number regarding Electrical system Insurance. When I said that I already had it, the female caller responded that it was with them, and because I had not claimed for three years they we going to reduce it from the current £180.00. I immediately knew it must be a scam, so I pressed the 'Block now' Button on my call Blocker.

Hi, I keep getting these calls aswell. The only reason I can think for these silent calls, would be to check for active mobile numbers - to later use with scam texts or for compiling a list of 'active' numbers, to be sold on. I am NOT an expert on any of this. I just cant think of another reason for them (no done research either)

Called twice today, 2nd time answered: asked for my partner by name & claimed to be from People's Energy who are our energy supplier and are based in Edinburgh so that matches the area code (0131). My partner wasn't happy to confirm security information for an unsolicited call though and they were happy to end the call requesting we call them. Appeared as 0800 612 1691 when calling but voicemail header appeared as 01482 380 700. When I called back 0800 number it gave me the option to have my number removed from their call list. No more calls!
