This is the new scam. If you have number recognition these devious energy companies are now using local dialling codes to make you think it is a local call. They insist they are (in this case) EON and that the contract is up for renewal. Very deceiptful, very rude (swore at me) and illegal as we are on TPS (which appears to be a waste of time!)

Rang me in July to say I had agreed to sponsor a crime prevention booklet last December and the booklet was now ready to be sent out at a cost of £199.00 plus vat. I had never had this conversation. SCAM - This is a call from the National Insurance Number Authority, fraud has been detected at the border with Wales (needless to say I've been isolating for a year at home, which is nowhere near Wales) and if you don't press 1 now, we will take legal action against your national insurance number. Started yesterday with 2 call and the same today(so far) I never get chance to pick up call before they hang up. Have now put this number in phone to try to block them, so will wait and see if they manage to get through that. Good game, hope you all enjoy playing this at home!

Scammers. They said they were from the Legal protection agency and that I was owed some money from an accident I reported in the last 3 years... they had my full name...Very scary as I never give out my number... how did they get it? Told him I had no idea what he was talking about...he rang off.
