A call from this number to my grandmother offered a security service she said straight away she was not interested and put the phone down. They phoned back straight away and said that was very rude and used her first name. It was suggested that they should use her surname as they did not know her and he said I know you . A further call was left unanswered. This was quite upsetting. Something should be done about such calls.

This is some landline from London area, I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. All of them are used for some kind of telemarketing (sometimes also cold calling), seems to be working for non-profit organizations (Cancer Research UK and similar), but in fact nuisance. People did someone answer this number?

28/06/18 An India man called from 01420 300017, claiming to be from Telephone Preference Management. He said he was updating records, to stop me getting nuisance calls for life ( alarm bells already ringing). He asked me to confirm that I paid my phone contract by direct debit, and then asked me to confirm my card expiry date...at which point, I hung up.
Scam 'crime agency' threatening to suspend National Insurance account [sic], or there will be legal action for 'crime'.

They call me 3 times a day - I complained to TPS who immediately contacted them. They have continued calling. After 30 days if they are still calling, TPS will take action. I don't answer, it goes straight on to message taker but it's still a nuisance. I've phoned them twice today and been assured they will remove my number but it's continuing. One woman I spoke to said she knew it was illegal.
Another call where, when you answer, it's silent then cuts off.

Called stating they were "Direct Legal" with regard to a recent car accident. I told him I had no interest in claiming anything and he hung up immediately. Number blocked.
