This number claimed to have been calling about my ‘recent car accident’. Out of curiosity of what this woman was going to say I said ‘Which one?’. Straight away she said ‘Ok, we’ll take you out of our system.’ Clearly this call was a scam.

Constant phone calls one after another - wanting me to have another smart meter installed already got one - asked them to read me out the t&C and small print left phone on table . Asked them to read it out again and they put phone down on me !
Seems to be some call center, I can see more similar numbers (all the same range - 1618142xxx, just last 2 or 3 digits different) reported here already - mostly as insurance marketing, PPI - car accident chasers, "1st call group" or "Pensions Advisory Service". No idea who is behind it, they left no message, no VM. I really don't answer unknown numbers, tried to dig some info about this number first on internet, but no luck so far. People did someone answer it?

Claimed they from smart insurance & company changed from original. They knew lots of info about insurance. Asked for acc details, put phone down and immediately rang my appliance insurance company and they said they havent been taken over by smart insurance. I felt relieved that i hadnt given out my bank details but its shocking how lnowledgeable they were and the information they currency had on it. Blocked immediately. Pls beware and be careful.

Call every day - started with mobile, now also ringing land line at home. No messages left on voice mail, and unintelligible automated message if you try to ring back. Now added to my auto-reject list but still showing up in rejected calls log daily
