Back again, they phoned my mobile yesterday and today my landline. Local garage had my contact numbers 2 years ago when I bought a car. In the past has just been postal advertising. This number called while I was out today. I rang it back later and got a message that it could not accept calls. My caller display indicated that it was an "international" number. Because it was clearly not from Liverpool, I set my call blocker against it. I note that it has subsequently rung again. My blocker rejected it.

SCAM / SPAM Automated message saying it's HMRC calling regarding a fraud case. I doubt the HMRC would call in this way. They ask you to press 1 to sort the issue. I would assume they start charging you an extortionate fee if you press the number. Do not press. If HMRC want to get in touch with you, they will do it with a person on the phone, not an automated message.
