this number called me earlier on this morning. Just silence when I answered the phone so I hung up.
Pre-recorded automated message (apparently from BT –NOT) plays when you answer the phone. Advises that you have been experiencing problems with your broadband service, and in order to correct the problem, you must press number 1 (one) on your phone keypad to speak to their “executive”. Call received on Tuesday 25 August 2020 at 13:05.

Phoned today at12.15 pm. Fairly gruff voice. Purportedly from BT. Asked me to confirm that I had been in touch with BT this morning. As I had, I said yes. There was some hesitation and a lot of background noise. I asked what he wanted. He asked if contact was by phone or mail (I think). I replied that the contact was on the internet and he abruptly ended the call.

I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow. Think this is a scam. Caller was from London but stating he was the local Safety Officer and we are in the Midlands. Did ask for person by name who was not available. Said he would send an email. Not convinced this is genuine.
