Claiming to be from Opus saying that another business had received our meter reading on their bill and were complaining about the high amount they were being asked to pay. Given that our electricity usage is very low, this doesn't seem a likely scenario. Could not satisfactorily answer why if they had made a meter reading cock-up it was anything to do with us. Why would we need to be involved at all? Told them I was suspicious of the call and hung up.

I gave this incorrect information to a unwanted cold call last week (Indian caller, UK Preference, claiming they were doing a survey). They have obviously passed my details to this company.

No bank name was given. apparently there were two transactions going through on my card, one for Amazon and another larger sum was an international money transfer. If you get a call you should answer or call back as the problem is that the initial database maker sells your number on to other junk call companies. If you have a call from them you should call the number back and ask for James, the call centre manager and demand where they got your number from. Fraud SPAM SCAM Number text me as a wrong number looking for Carolyn, when i replied wrong number, they apologised and asked for my name so they could add me to their address book so it wouldn't happen again. There have been 22 checks on this number in 2 days, it screams phishing for information that will be used for scams or fraud in the future.

I have had calls from this number, after a long conversation regarding data protection, I confirmed my address to discover it was for my previous address. The debt was from several years back that I thought was paid. This is not a scam, but people who are doing a job to get debt paid. You wouldn t walk into a shop and fill a trolley with goods and leave only paying for some of it. With debt we have either received the goods or service. Mine was for photos that I had forgot about
