Received a call from this number and listening to the message can understand why people fall for this. The message advises that HMRC wish to speak with you and it may be in your interest to appoint a Solicitor. Then asks that you call back. I called back and an Asian male answered with "This is Her Majesties Revenue Control, how can I help you" I hung up. This is a scam - do not entertain requests from anyone calling from a number that is not on the HMRC website www.gov.uk/government/organisatio

These people are a complete pain. Don't respond to their calls. 50 calls in a month even after telling them politely and less politely to go away. They are parasites . Is there a rating less than negative? . Might be worth just press receive and leave them hanging on. Then it might just clog up their calls.

I said if you will not tell me who you are, then you do not know who I am. He said something by which time I hung up.
