This number has been trying to make a dwp application for a budgeting loan without my consent I clocked it on my Google history page hope you can help many thanks, my phone rang at 9pm last night and a Jamaican woman said to me I am returning your missed calls I said to her I havnt made any calls and put phone down and started checking everything then I noticed the dwp thing on history page

Said they were Mcafee support, handling issue relating to our home "network" which would mean all devices using network (he meant router) would shortly become infected and stop working. Wanted £200 to fix, as our Mcafee didn't cover "network". Said we'd call back and given this number. Subsequently checked with Currys who support some of our tech who confirmed it's a scam

The operator said he worked for UK Debt Solutions, it was a bit difficult to understand him because of his Indian like accent and I was right next to some factories thrumming away. FraudFemale recorded voice with American accent (very amateurish) saying they were HMRC and that I had been reported for tax evasion. The case has been reported to the police and would be brought before a magistrate. "Press 1 to speak to a HMRC agent", Obviously I didn't. This country has some of the most advanced telecomms technology in the world. WHY can't the authoriries (Police, BT, the Regulator) take down these numbers?
