This was Durham County Council, they were trying to arrange a visit to come out and see me about a "query" on my housing benefit claim.

Auto message started "Please hold........" I hung up. Getting realy annoyed at cold callers and auto callers. I am on Telephone Preference Scheme and they still call. Even after I tell them politely I am on TPS and to remove my number. Further calls from the same number I am less polite too. Sooner or later I may reach the stage where I will only have the last resort of blowing a whistle down the line to see if that stops them.

Had a call at 1221 today, 12 Jan 17 but caller left no message, so obviously a scam/spoof/marketing call. Tried ringing the number back but got a Sky Voicemail Service. Tried calling the number again at 1530 this afternoon, only to have an automated message saying the Voicemailbox was full & could not take any more messages. NUmber appears to be from a company alled DeVere's. A financial services company who offer finnancial services such as wealth planning, tax optimisation schemes, moving final salary pensions to tax shelters abroad, etc. I have had no personal dealings with the company and cannot comment on their service. I was cold called. I assume they saw that I was a former employee of a blue chip company and they offered to move my final salary pension abroad. They could be perfectly legitimate, I cannot say.
