Phoned from call center, (I think they were the magazine sellers), they offered me 3 magazines for a good price & said I could pay over the phone. They were very nice at 1st & careful to explain how they wanted my bank details, (not a debit/credit card) & that that is safe, (I discovered that it's true), but they were very, very, insistent, determined & wouldn't take no for an answer! Called today. Heavy Indian accent and lots of Indian voices in the background. Said he was calling from BT Tech dept....yeah ok like I believe that. I told him he was in for a big surprise as we had traced his number and would take matters further as he had reached an internal secure line at Essex police headquarters(he hadn t) but he hung up really QUICKLY. It s about time BT stopped selling blocks of numbers to scammer scum. If they don t then we, as genuine customers, should be able to sue BT.

Fake call about a non existing internet connection problem. Claims to be from BT Open Reach and wants access to your computer.
Fraud caller said his name was Brian and he worked for Microsoft and based in Reading. Told me that I had down loaded illegal material on my computer, to log on and he would clear it. when I declined he threatened me by "blocking" my internet access. I suggested he do that and I would call him back to be reconnected. He hung up!
