Did not answer this suspicious call - only my friends are aware of mobile number and I now see this number has only started being used today (12 Dec 2022).
SCAM automated voice says they are calling about your visa card and master card and about a £600 transaction that took place...total scam, visa and MasterCard are two different companies and they certainly wouldn't be using a mobile phone number to call customers

Fraud - received an SMS saying it was from the NHS and I'd been in close contact with someone who has COVID and to order a test from a link in the SMS. Stupidly, I clicked on the link, and entered card details for Postage of a PCR. RBS got in touch and cancelled the card, although 2 large transactions had been attempted. The male voice said they were calling from my bank to inform me that a large sum of money had been sent abroad and a purchase had been made on Amazon. The instructions were to press number 1 or 3 to speak to someone. At this poit I hung up.

Scammer claiming to be from O2, offering to reduce my bill by 30%. Didn't confirm my name, if it matches the account holder name, or any account details besides the phone number (which they'd just called, so duh...). Just started asking for the verification code they send you by text when accessing your account. The one where the message specifically states not to give the code to anyone, even people claiming to be O2 staff... Probably not calling from Edinburgh either, probably a spoofed number.

This and another similar number called my land line and I called the one above back, as I was waiting for a call, but there was no reply Within five minutes a foreign man called back and stated I had phoned him a few minutes before. When told I was responding to a call from him, he insisted I had called him an hour ago (impossible as no one was home), and his attitude changed to verging on verbally aggressive. I hung up. This call came immediately after I hung up on 0161 523 1720, a storm damage claim company. Probably linked and probably unsafe. Both now blocked.
SPAM This number is from a batch of similar numbers: 07488871703. 07488871758, 07488871735, 07488871757, 07488871649, 07488871624, 07488871560. Many have been missed calls and the rest I let ring out. I rang back and they all have had an answering machine with the same female voice putting me in a queue and at no point saying who they are. Whoever they are, they have the ability to have or create many numbers. They get blocked and move onto another number and call back.
This number called me claiming to be bank security and that 2 transactions had been requested from my bank. One for Amazon for £200 and an international money transfer for £900. Press 1 to authorise or hold if you haven't made these transactions. I hung up.
