SCAM / SPAM Just had automated message from this number claiming that a tax fraud case had been opened against me and that if I didn't press 1 it was likely that I would go to prison! I hung up.
Call supposed to have come from Microsoft Windows. Caller was asking about error reports we had sent - we hadn t. My partner took the call and, being savvy, did not give away any information. The caller ended the call himself with a thank you, goodbye.
SCAM Calling from a Investigation company. Didn't get the rest of the pre recorded message. I hanged up.

When questioned how he had seen my details and what details and where he was based he said it was citizens advice in Manchester . I live in Somerset , I said goodbye and hung up. Called trying to arrange a survey of the property for Solar Panels, told that they were not trying to sell me anything (yeh right) but a surveyor just happens to be in the area. Made no mention of the fact that they were fined £80,000 last month by the ioc for lying to people over the phone.

This was actually just an automated BT text-to-landline service telling me the time slot for my Costco parcel delivery that I was expecting, so this was completely legit for me. It will try ringing you several times until you listen to the text message so just listen and it will stop. However, as it's a generic BT service it is open to abuse but I would advise against blocking it because the message delivery service itself is not a scam, just be aware though that the message you receive could be bogus.
