Annoying and but entertaining for some ten minutes. I said "if you tell me who is calling I will fetch her for you" and she hung up. Scam about washing machine insurance - has renewed already so got suspicious when asked for bank account details!! Offered a discount too. Quite believable at first as they had my name and address but no info re type of washing machine. Beware. 4ujom

Called claiming to be from virgin media. Asked to press ctrl and r on your computer. This is the start of the process to allow remote access. I'm aware of someone who did this and then had an attempt to have internet banking set up. Someone else had their bank account emptied after doing what they asked. I told them I wasn't prepared to do anything as was aware of scams from people claiming to be calling from virgin media. They hung up straightaway then.
SCAM Claimed to be from Amazon regarding the renewal of our Amazon Prime subscription. Advised to "press 1 to cancel". Suspect this was fishing for our bank account number details. The call was soon followed by another from '01420 226 637'. The 'bot' hung-up when I answered, but did not say anything.
