Have previously had about three missed calls from this number - just picked up the latest call and they informed me that I d had a car accident at some point since July 2010 - I have never had a car accident, thank goodness. I asked them where they got this information from - they said they purchased these details from a company and had got them as I had registered the accident but hadn t claimed anything. Asked to speak with my manager, I asked who they were and where they were calling from, advised his name was Sam from British Gas then proceeded to discuss N Power, I asked him to verify the company. After much back and "fourthing"he advised he was from "Duel Fuel" and his name was Jamal. Then he asked what was the company he has called an our number!! Very odd

I got called by this number earlier today. In my case even though it was unsolicited, it was a welcomed call from Carphone Warehouse. I had an issue with their website and the resolved it for me.

UPDATE - now verified as the TSB fraud line. All ok.

I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

DO NOT ANSWER - Scam call from an Asian call centre, openly admitting to charging a premium rate for connecting your call. They begin the conversation stating they are a government scheme aimed at helping pay back loans etc. I received racial abuse from the caller while trying to get information out of him. Have checked all phone records to see if any charges have come through but none as yet, but am unaware if the included minutes have covered this somehow. BLOCK & REPORT.
