A fraudulent text charging £4.50 per received message. Identified by O2 as belonging to a company overseeing similar companies (all located outside the UK) called Oxygen 8 with a phone number of 03333137900. This is an automated service where you can enter your mobile number to be unsubscribed, hopefully. This message is posted in response to a second occurrence despite taking the above action.

FrI was caught out by this today. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. They applied just enough pressure when the texts to change my account detail came in that I didn't have time to read them properly. Thankfully, I read them after the call and got straight on to O2 to change
SCAM: Fifth identical call today, once an hour, from different phone numbers (probably all spoofed) Automated female voice, claiming to be from BT Internet Dept, who have supposedly been trying to call me urgently, because of ‘suspicious activity’ on my account. I m getting really sick of these calls now. I am registered with TPS but am called both on my mobile and home number. I actually pressed 5 to speak with someone and she just put the phone down on me.
