They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Windows technical scam, just block it...

They telephoned me and said my phone was being hacked by online hackers which it wasn't. He was very persistent and kept phoning back until my husband was shouting at him. When I looked the number up it was a repair shop in Belfast albeit with an Asian accent.
SCAM This person rang me 3 times one after the other. He said he was from an investment firm and I stopped his spiel as soon as I heard that. He became extreme belligerent when I told him I wasn't interested and to remove my details from his list. I ended the call and he had the audacity to keep ringing me even though I kept rejecting his call!

got a call from a young guy saying that in 2009 im owed money from either MBNA, Barclay or Capital One credit card, which is utter bullshit, then when I told him that I didnt even have a credit card in 2009 nevermind by any of those companies the scally knob said "whateva dont get your £2 grand then" and put the phone down. Absolute muppet and the company is a con, block the number and dont give these idiots any info.

Received call from this local area code (Huddersfield) and chose not to answer until I'd checked for ratings on the number, which turned out to be neutral. Called me again the following day, chose to answer and a polite lady speaking good English started by asking how my day was, what the weather was like here in the UK, she's sitting there in an office in Morocco and the weather is beautiful.....! So from Morocco they are managing to call through a local UK area code which you are more likely to answer. D
