SCAM Message popped up on my laptop stating that it was in danger of being hacked and had been temporarily blocked. The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Stopped the call, turned laptop on & off, messages disappeared. Call rec'd from 01158881064

Was called this morning about 10am was a recorded message, saying we need your authority to pass payment to amazon of £500, and also about a £1000 that needs authorising, the recorded message was crackling and hard to hear all but i just hung up. then did 1471 to see who it was as they made out it was my bank wanting authorisation.
This is the charity Scope. Probably you signed up to donate money.

28 Nov. 2022 (17:33) a chap with Indian accent called me claiming to be from BT to say that my computer may have been compromised and that he could check that for me if I switched it on and he ran a quick check. Complete nonsense of course and an attempted scam. He said he was calling from London but the area code is Falkirk (Scotland).

Asked her what country she was calling from and what location which she wouldn't answer, she then wanted to know if I was a private or social tennant. A man rang from this number, I think he said from PAC - had my name and said I had been advised by a financial adviser to move my pension. When I asked where he got this information, he said from Pensionwise. As far as I am aware Pensionwise do not have such information. I said I had not seen a financial advisor or been advised to move my pension. The man was very polite and rang off. I was suspicious and think it could have been a dangerous if I had shared financial info.

Dont know who it was but voicemail was an automated computerised voice stating to press 1 or there would be legal action. Guess what I didnt press.
This number is a SCAM. I just received a call from a man telling me he had my file in front of him and I have some unsecured debts. When I told him that I do not have any debts he hung up immediately and didn't even say goodbye. Clearly not a genuine debt advice agency because they would never hang up in such a manner. Avoid at all costs.
