Supposed to be from Telephone Preference Service. Confirmed address which they knew, they then asked for the expiry date of "your VISA card" and passed me on to the "Chief Manager for TPS", he asked for some more details at which point I put the phone down. It rang several times, I ignored it.

I told them I was TPS registered you should check before tele-marketing. the response I got was that they are too busy to check so they get a third party to do it. Man with Indian accent said his name was Ray Hamilton claiming to be calling from HMRC and said I was due nearly £500 in tax rebate. Asked for my card details but didnt give them to him as it is a scam. HMRC wouldnt ring to say you are due a tax rebate let alone ask for your card details on the phone.
