Had a call claiming to be HMRC saying I've committed tax fraud and that action was being taken against me. I was told to press 1 to find out more so I hung up as I have read somewhere that as soon as you press a number, your phone can be hacked or something bad like that. I know for a fact that I haven't committed tax fraud and I don't think HMRC would phone. They usually send letters in the first instance. Therefore I'm flagging this up as dangerous.

Have received same call from Indian sounding Gentleman many times on different numbers all reported. Same line every time saying I am calling from BT technical and I must switch on Computer and follow his instructions. I would suggest you will upload remote software for them to hack your passwords etc if you do. I just hang up now.

Rang and asked for me by name and when I asked who was calling he said The U group. I informed him that I was registed with TPS. He immediately said he would delete my number from the database. Very polite throughout the call.

Fraud Seems to be fraud. Caller wouldn´t give details. Related to blockchain investments. My number is unlisted and not in the UK so in my view it was definitely a phishing attempt.
