Let them ramble on for a bit; apparently I could be owed thousands in PPI claims, which they would chase for me for only 30% of it. For reassurance they gave me a different callback number to the one that had rung on my mobile, then asked if I would speak to my bank and request PPI information on their behalf while they kept me on hold. SCAM Call started with ' A oversees transaction of 600 pounds was made today was this you ' Was then asked to answer yes or no. I stated no I was put through to a foreign call center stating to be from the Halifax. I stopped him and stated I will end the call and call Halifax direct myself. After doing so Halifax stated it was a scam call and to block the number.

I answered the call but they hang up. I've received two calls from mobile numbers that have the same first 5 numbers. These scammers seem to use a number very similar to yours. I guess to make you think it looks like a genuine caller. Best is not to answer. If there is no voice message left then it is likely to be a scam.

Steve is correct, it is Bauer Media. If you ve entered your number online somewhere for a free magazine (I d asked for Marie Claire / Instyle) then they re calling for your address. Theyll also offer you 3 issues for £1.00. Spoke to a lovely lady and she asked if I wanted future calls for offers and so I said no. It s all legit. However, they need to work on their employees... I had another call minutes later from a guy there who was on the phone to someone else!!

they asked for me by previous name a bit worrying then asked if I d claimed all my PPI back. When I said I d never had any he insisted I had so I terminated the call. I only answered the call as I have relatives in Macclesfield and thought it may be one of them ringing from another landline
