SCAM call. Automated message, no introduction just I have authorised a money transfer and spent £400 on Amazon which I had not. Wanted me to press 1 to ok 2 to dispute or 3 to speak to an advisor. I hung up as it's an obvious scam. Be careful as all these ways of getting your details are sometimes convincing. Not today though !!!

The activity was suspicious so blocked my account. Logged into my Amazon account using the official app and there is no such activity.

It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.
Claiming to be Hammersmith police station over bank card fraud, check lots of bank acc details, then say when the call is finished a dialling tone sounds and to dial one's bank customer advice. This takes you through to another fraudster claiming to be your bank who takes more details then says they are transferring you to the serious fraud office. Called me and implied that they were operating on behalf of my estate agent and this was the 'next step' in the purchase of my new property. Tried to get my address details claiming that it was all part of 'data protection' - when I said 'heck no - I'm not giving you any details' then they doubled down on the the claim that they were operating on behalf of my estate.
