Fraud - Claims to be from Virgin Media and attempts to get access to your computer.

SCAM / SPAM Automated call with a dodgy American accent claiming to be "hmrc" and that I'm under investigation for fraud and to hold the line for the next available agent . Then a packistan woman (obviously in a call centre) asked my made-up name and address tells me I'm under investigation for tax fraud and asks who files my taxes. I tell her I'm unemployed. She then asks how long have I been unemployed. I told her iv never worked as I'm medically unfit to work. She then without checking

Called from a noisy call centre - they knew my name. Said they were from "Global investments" or similar and wanted to set up an appointment with an advisor. Perfectly polite and happy when I said no. Wondering if it could be a phishing call, or

Last few weeks several calls sometimes more than 1 a day to my mobile. I answer call just a "beep" noise and call finishes

SCAM They referred to the national "Renewable Energy Database" and hung up on me when I questioned how they had information about my loft insulation when I have never told anyone! The Database exists but it does NOT have this information. It is for tracking "the progress of UK renewable electricity projects over 150kW through the planning system".

This is some landline from London area, I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. All of them are used for some kind of telemarketing (sometimes also cold calling), seems to be working for non-profit organizations (Cancer Research UK and similar), but in fact nuisance. People did someone answer this number?

I have repeatedly told them that the person who they are asking for doesn't have its number. A have asked them to take my number of their system. But no every day we get call from them. This person how called today just hung up as I was about to ask her again to remove the phone number.

Consumer research....and as like all these type of operations...when someone actually answers the phone at the customer end, the call is put through to an operator...if there is one available, hence the silence if one is not immediately there. They do state, if calling the number back, to leave your name and number to remove you from the database, which I have....so we shall see if these "nuisance" calls do actually stop!
