Fraud an automated message saying there is a tax fraud against my name and i was to press 1 to speak to HMRC otherwise I am going to be arrested. I left didn't press 1 and waited then it hung up! I have had one similar in the past it makes you think Oh Christ...then hang on HMRC would of directly got in contact...I can see why some people may press 1 in a panic! Don't press1.

PPI call, an Asian "Peter" passed me to his supervisor who, once I starting asking questions back about the call, became abusive and signed off with telling me to f**k off. Supervisor said that he was in "Afghanistan".

SCAM pretending to be from AMAZON
My mum has received a call from a man named Ricky. I warned her about these scammers but she did not think about it properly. The accent was somewhat indian origin. He first claimed he was with windows, but as the call progressed it seemed that he wasnt from windows. She has allowed him to scan our computer through a administrator. Can you please tell me what this man has done. Will this lead to him taking any personal information. Very worried. They have taken the name care your PC.

These are both premium-rate, non-geographic numbers, and if they have called you, probably spoofed anyway - they tend to be used for TV/radio phone-in competitions.
