UPDATE FROM CHEAP WEB DESIGN: Unfortunately we continue to be hounded by scammers which is resulting in thousands of people calling us back to see why they were called (we're only a team of 8 so have had to disable our phones and put a pre-recorded message). This man came to my mums address and coned her out of over ?18000 for repairs to the roof I called the police and they called trading standards and the work should only have cost less than ?1000 so I m very keen to catch this vilan if any one can help please leave a comment would be great thanks Robert

Companies have got clever because they know if they say PPI upfront, no-one will talk to them! These guys say: "Money Save - in a response to a survey you filled in and expressed an interest in financial products"! Well I may have completed a survey but I certainly did not express an interest in anything! It was then she said they were saving us money by helping to claim compensation, "previously known as PPI." !

The caller said a new store was being set up in the town and they wanted to send me discount vouchers for either cutting hot water bill or heating bill. When I asked about for more information he mentioned something about the 50+ age range. I told him we are ex-directory so how did he get the number. He said something about UK database and I said I didn t deal with cold calls and he rang off.

Can't believe it ask me one question I ask who call and hang up, not very British, do not waste my time ,

Phoned continuously over a few weeks. Have barred the number now.

Utility co hangs up before chance to answer.

I have called applianceserve on 08004118899. I said I had asked for a refund of the £175 I had paid for my washing machine to cover the next 3 years following the expiry of the manufacturer s guarantee but had not received any response. Having seen comments on the internet saying it was a scam, I said if the company is genuine then please can you arrange a refund. She looked up my details and said someone will call me tomorrow in office hours. She sounded pleasant - so - watch this space!!

They ring you up and launch into their patter about time running out to claim for PPI. I don t know whether they are any use to someone who has actually been mis-sold PPI but probably not, as these people would already know and have lodged their claim - free - with their bank. No-one needs these parasites; certainly not me.
