Lady with a Swedish accent phoned my number asking for my daughter by her full name. I said that is my daughter what is this about? She then went on to ask if we know about the european laws reguarding crypto currency and I realised it was probably a scam and hung up to google the number and found it listed 6 times on a swedish number look up website.
This number caller purports to be from BT. The caller tried to persuade me that a) they were from BT and b) that cyber-hackers were piggy-backing my internet connection to download illicit material without having to reveal who they are. I questioned them e.g. saying 'why should they need to use my line?' since it's so easy to download stuff anonymously from anywhere in most countries around the world. Green Flag, I assume I had recently changed some details of my cover. When I called them about this number they said they had a special arrangement with the company who sent it and that I would not be charged. But if I was they wanted me to call them and they would refund the money to me. I don't think so. I still believe this number to be a scam.
