Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1612497xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with financial services, PPI, insurance claims, loans. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

I called the number back and it is Santander - their new HQ is based there - but only a recorded message plays without giving any further details.
This number has called constantly the past few days, always on my mobile first and when I don't answer that, they ring my landline, straight away. No message is ever left, really annoying. I've now blocked the number on both my mobile and my landline - if it's important they should have left a message, so I can only assume it's a scam or aggressive sales.
Rang saying they was some PPI company, and I had been awarded my refund of nearly £5000
got a txt saying it was nat west conducting a fraud check £1400 to DHL. after some research I found this to be a scam that charges u for the call DO NOT call it SCAM

Called my grans house at 21:00 declaring they where a government debt solutions company, refused to give information on how they got the number and when questioned became very adutated. I have kept the number and redialled with no answere. Ill keep ringing until they do. Or atleast block there phone line :-)
