Spam saying my national insurace number has been suspended due to fraudulent activity

It's a fake number anyway so don't give it any further thought. 020 is the city code for London but digits after that start with 3, 7, or 8.

I have been called on both landline and mobile from this number in the last few days.

Called me today. I ignored because I suspected a scam. Having now read previous comments, I will block the number.

Just block it instead, if your phone allows it. There s no reason for you to miss other calls and messages because of these idiots.

This number belongs to a company called Intelling Ltd based at Wythenshawe (Manchester) and Belfast. An O2 customer service representative confirmed that it is an O2 number, or rather that O2 uses this company to sell its services. The Managing Director at Intelling is a chap called Phil Morgan. Some Indian guy claiming to be from Carphone warehouse.

Number actually shows as 0019798234079 on caller ID but this site seems to drop the 00. This is a Windows security scam where they tell you that you have viruses on your PC and they can fix them for you. Didn t go along with it today and said to them that I suppose they were going to show me errors and warnings in my Windows event logs and they just hung up without any further comment. Hopefully they will remove me from their database if they realise I m too Windows savvy to ever fall for this.
