jennifer from bt openreach called to tell me there was a virus on my hub stopping me getting my full speeds .asked for name address phon number and bank details as fee needed to be paid .strangely when i advised her i had no internet or hub the call ended ;) .are people really falling for this scam still in 2020?
Update on my last post. Have just spent 1 fruitless hour on a BT chat line, spoke to Rupinder, complaints; Sheikh Mohammed Aziz, faults; Shivari, billing. All to no avail. BT insist that the calls were made from our landline and are not able to refund the charges. We now await a call from the Manager, as we have threatened to take this matter further if not resolved. 7 x 24p is not exactly breaking the bank but it is the injustice of it when we know we have not made these calls. Spam/unsolicited call. Something about insulation and energy efficiency. I demanded to know if he was trying to sell me something, he finally admitted he was, then hung up when I requested his name and company name to report the Telephone Preference Service.
Add this number to your block list. They try to contact people to find someone who was involved in an accident. They claimed to be a sort of Accident Advice Helpline and the name of the company is LGML. I didn´t even know there was a service like this.
Got a call claiming to be a person from my college...a college I have not attended for more than a year at this point, their accent didn't seem English at all and I could barely hear them, I have yet to have a call back from it since the call got dropped.
