Despite registration with the TPS, I had two cold calls about an alleged car accident in which I was involved but I do not own a car and certainly was not involved in an accident on the date claimed. The caller claimed to be from a company called Solicitors Law Firm and to have got details of my alleged accident from the UK National Traffic Department but as far as I can ascertain neither organisation exists. They witheld their phone number but claimed to be calling from 01527 821239.

I live in Plymouth but judging by other comments, they were calling from Darlington. Asked her for name of company and she said Industrial Workers Office. I gave them an earful and hung up. automated call telling me there has been a suspicious foreign currency transaction on my debit card for £600 (strange its exactly £600 in a foreign currency!!!) and that I should press '2' to speak to a customer service advisor. Pressed '2' to see where it would divert me and went straight through to a foreign call centre.
