I had a call from populus survey yesterday and told them it wasn t a good time and they said they would call back. That was from number 0345 313 0337. Just had a missed call from the 0191 number everyone is talking about. I called it back and it says the number does not exist. Glad I googled it as had not connected the two. I will block both numbers to see if it does the trick.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 16181422xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with accident claims, insurance marketing - mostly Harrington Consultancy. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

The message advises that HMRC wish to speak with you and it may be in your interest to appoint a Solicitor. Then asks that you call back. I called back and an Asian male answered with "This is Her Majesties Revenue Control, how can I help you" I hung up. I ve had this kind of call on dozens of occasions over the past few years, but on this occasion my 1471 actually returned 0208 870 1001. When I tried the number, it returned a "this number does not accept incoming calls" message.
