SCAM they said they were from MEH about my life insurance which I don’t have. They asked me if I had a mortgage and before I could say ‘no’ they hung up!! So blocked and deleted!
My landline is registered with TPS. This number has phoned me 7 times in the last 25 hours (3 of them silent). They asked for me by name. Say they are the Telephone Preference Barring Service (a name much like the official free service). Fraud. Claims to be HMRC London, but is a Bolton number. They will ask for your name and details but DO NOT give them out. If you ask them, they will give you a genuine number so that you are confident, but that is not who they are. Similar to the Windows scam, they will give you the registered address of Microsoft in Reading and a genuine name of someone who works there, but that doesn't stop it being a scam. If they called you, they should know your details!
