SCAM - recorded voice advising HMRC had recorded tax fraud case against me and to "press 1 to be connected to the case officer". Needless to say I hung up and have blocked number!

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Recorded message "bank alert" from bank "technical department" Usual same male voice used regularly for these scams from various numbers. Total pain and regarded as harrassment,. Thery obviously think folk are stupid enough to respond by pressing button 2 - which only atkes you to a premium rate line from which the scammers make money. Five star bad.

Fraud - this number is an establishment who is claiming to be The Halifax Bank and they aren’t. They ask if a transaction has been done that day in a store, it gives the amount and time. I have been caught out before by this, but not this time. And on occasion they come up with the identical number of what the Halifax Bank Fraud Teams actual number is. They are very clever and very dishonest people.

Called yesterday and today late afternoon . Then hung up immediately. Suspect it is someone trying to call the Conan Vet but can't be bothered to dial the correct area code. They don;'t usually repeat or hang up though

Fraud - when the call was answered there was an automated message going on about a criminal case being started
FRAUD - Automated call stating that your national insurance number has been stolen or compromised etc and to press 1 to be connected to a caller. Dont be mistaken because it is an 0800 number, it is not legitimate, just fraudsters trying to obtain your personal information.
