I had a letter from Bluestone Credit Management (or so I thought), the other day. I am now thinking it could be a scam letter because when I did some checking on the internet the phone number (01142 317 413), on the letter was completely different then the phone number given on Bluestone’s internet site. I am now going to forward a copy of the letter to HMRC to see if they can confirm if it is fake.

No longer do I speak when I answer a number not familiar. If it's a cold call, they will speak first. If it's someone who knows me, they will speak if I don't. This one just hung up, so I can deduce it was an unsolicited and unwanted call and blocked them.

When I dialled the number back using 141 to block my own number the call was not picked up. I suspect a call centre of some form possibly phishing. I did not pick up and no voicemail left - the caller ID on my smartphone said it was Three but Three are my provider and would leave voicemail. Internet search says the call originates in Russia? I am surprised that Three use a Russian call centre?
