Just had a 14th call from these people who seem to have obtained my number from EE? Despite being on TPS and declining all marketing from EE these bozo s keep calling - have now tried blocking the number

Received a call from this number today on my mobile asking for me by name. When I asked who was calling he refused to tell me before I confirmed who I was. I hung up.

got an email saying i was eligible for a tax refund aparantly this is a scam and the sender should be tracked and prosecuted.

same scammy call My advice is to always do what I do with these scam type calls; 1. use your phone to make a recording of 1 second of silence. (keep this 1 second silence in your ringtone or media folder) 2.Save the recording and call it scamtone or something. 3. then enter the scammy number into your address book as ; scam1, scam2, scam 3 etc. Each one represents a different scammy number that you get over time. 4. finally, associate the 1 second of silence with each scammy number as a ringto

Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

Pretending to be an insurance company interested in my "recent car accident". There has of course been no such accident.

They are based on wharf industrial estate in bury, Manchester and Blackburn. The staff who call have no idea, nor choice of who they ring as the system selects a number at random from their data, and only when the line opens do they see your name and address etc. They are legitimate in terms of what they are offering (a free hearing frequency test at your local football club/hotel) however, if you will receive any money should a claim be successful is questionable. Called to offer me a better rate on my mortgage. I don t have a mortgage and they asked if I wanted my details removed, I said yes and was told this could take 1 business day. 23 hours later I received another call, I ve since had a call yesterday and today. Next time they call I m going to get the full company name and complain to the ICO.

Black Apples....Rotten apples is more like it....I didn t realize people in the UK were getting spammed by india staffing companies as well...Its a serious epidemic in the US these days...I ve got a list a mile long of india staffing companies that are aggressive as hell cold calling and lining people up with fake jobs that they cut you as fast as possible and underpay you as low as possible.... personally, i think its all tied with some type of india visa fraud... I received a call this afternoon from David from London Police Station informing me that fraudulent transcations are taking place in my account (approx. ?3100) and it would be best for me to relocate my funds into safe keepings. Does this sound strange to anyone else? I said righto mate, "I expect that you will take care of it for me then." - Not a believer.
