I don t know why the authorities don t ban people/companies who do this (i.e. dial and hang up so they will get paid by people trying to call back)

This number left a message to call back John (no company name). When i returned the call he tried to sell me a pension. I questioned his methods and he put the phone down on me. Any company that operates in such a way is not worth dealing with.

The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Had a call asking for bank details to continue my Amazon Prime membership during a trial. The call said it would take £80 (ish) in a couple of days unless bank details given. Went on to Amazon to find the trial finishes in 20 days... Be safe people!

Fraud : wanting to confirm a ebay purchase and click on a certain number on my keypad.
Automated call Recieved a call from this number threatening it was a Fraud investigation giving me a reference number then directing me to press one to get through to an agent. If I hung up and ignored the call I may end up with a fine or court proceedings.no reference as to what the call was related to? Very strange and no reason why I would even recieve such a call. I ended call without proceeding but want others to watch out for such calls as the ber search brought up nothing in terms of an organisation
Good company, great wine, swift delivery, personal approach with repeat customers. They phone every three months or so but are quite happy to be told we don t need any wine right now and be given a date to phone again. Nothing aggressive about their sales pitch and every now and again you get a nice free gift or extra bottle. They are the same thing as Sunday Times Wine Club.
