They knew my name and address, but asked for my age and said that my answers would help release new products. When I asked who they were I was told UK Preference. I asked for him to stay on the phone whilst I looked up the company on the internet he immediately hung up

People did someone answer this number? I had few missed calls from this one, probably some call centre robocaller testing my number? I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. This number comes from Cardiff, I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. Have missed calls from them on my mobile, was trying to dig some info on the internet before calling them back, but found nothing, no luck - probably just another insurance claims telemarketer... People pls did someone answer this number, who is it?

Just had one of the calls mentioned above. I hung up but curiosity got the better of me so I called the number which went straight into a recorded message so obviously not a government office. I agree it's a scam and could be very worrying for elderly or vulnerable people.
