Two days running I have received a call threatening law suit - supposedly from HMRC. Worrying since I am 87 years old and know my finances are in proper order.

Called to inform me of a compensation of ?2000+ I may be entitled to. This was the second time this number had appeared on my phone but the first time I had been available to answer it. I just cut the guy off and hung up. VERY annoying, especially as I had been at work!!!

within an hour I got three calls from the number, this time with a crackly message about how they are British Gas and would like to speak to me about my account, and can I ring them on an 0845 number. why should I? gonna report it to TPS.

Rang and after one ring it stopped. I suspect this number is being used to ring numbers to identify if they are in use. Every number that it successfully rings at least once is then added to a list to sell to scum bags for dodgy telemarketing purposes. Utter scum. Block it if you can.

Female caller with an Asian accent rang from this number twice today. Said she was from Benefits UK. I asked who Benefits UK is, and she replied "A company", and wanted to ask me some questions, which would only take a couple of minutes. I replied that I do not answer questions over the phone, and she hung up. A couple of hours later, the number rang again, and my daughter answered. She told the caller that our number is ex directory and that we are TPS registered. Again, the caller hung up.
