Subcontinental-sounding told me I needed a box to stop nuisance calls - two pounds fifty a month for three years! Caller Display does it much cheaper and I don t usually answer calls from 0845- numbers. Curious this time.

Asking for someone who does not exist - a con, block it
Asked to speak to my mum (who has never ever had my phone number). Saying they were from the National Work Advisory or something similar requesting my mum s work history. They can t have been that interested though as they didn t ask for a contact number for her.
SCAM - Indian chap trying to sell an upgrade phone and get bank details even though phone is under contract. I kept him on the phone as long as I could to waste his time!!

This number left a message on my answerphone saying that unauthorised payments had been made from an Amazon account and to press 2 to talk to someone. Clearly a scam but would scare some people to do the wrong thing.
