Said they were calling from (mumbled) and that thousands of pounds were being taken out of my account which they thought unusual. The dialling code was our local number thought strange but them hung up rang from another 01242 number a few minutes later but ignored

I was called by this number today, the automated message told me my amazon prime account had expired and that my credit card would be charged £95 pounds for renewal, if I was unhappy about this, press 1. Sadly for them, (lucky for me) I don't have an amazon prime account, hung up imediately. The scary thing about this call was it was a local number to me, first time I've seen that, the other thing about that is it means its only relivent to people in the 0115 area, not nationally like the old scam num

This number called me this morning 10.02 am. What appeared to be recorded message told me that they were speaking from Visa and my card had been used to place an £800 bet in the USA, if this wasn't me press a button on the phone. Got a text from a mobile number saying from the Halifax regarding a transaction, if not me, call this number, I do not have a Halifax account so checked my own account and nothing amiss so BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM
Scam number, said I'd been in a car accident and was owed £400k and they simply needed my debit card number, expiry date and the 3 digits on the back so they could "transfer the funds" to my account. When I declined to provide the details they told me I was "being a nerd".
