They call, I answer, say hello, and hear some muffled noises for a few seconds, and they hang up on me.

Someone somewhere was or is being scammed by some fake investment groups and it is sad, this experience is harder than many people think. Call from “John” claiming to be from BT Openreach regarding our internet connection. When asked how they got our number he promptly ended the call.
This number called me and left an automated voicemail indicating unless I called my internet would be cut off - clearly some sort of scam.

Indian female, claiming to be from O2. I hung up without saying anything. Been getting calls every day from this supposed Bournemouth number. These scammers have obviously obtained a batch of similar numbers, as yesterday it was from 01202080470. These calls have been coming in coincidental to me using for the first time, a free photo printing service called 'FreePrints' where you pay just for the postage. I could be wrong, but it is highly suspicious, as I never usually get spam calls.
