SCAM - pretending to be from HMRC

Called from Citizens advice group. I questioned the male caller with a south Asian accent in some detail. He was very helpful. They were calling about debts and he asked what debts we had. I asked him where they got our number and he replied FCA ????????????. I then asked him for the person or department name as I have previously worked with FCA in the past, he didn’t give it to me. He was very polite and said he couldn’t continue. He also said they weren’t authorised in the UK!

I have a car for sale and someone called me saying he would be interested in the car, after I said it was no longer for sale, he started threatening me to pay him 100 pounds for the gas and the trouble. I want to clarify that I had just given him the 5 minute postcode and he should have come to see the car in about 5 hours when I was free.

Fraud: This UK Vodafone mobile number is being used by fraudsters who are targeting people to pay a deposit for an apartment which does not exist. The paid money then goes into a fraudulently opened bank account. It can be evidenced that they also steal peoples identities to open bank accounts and to advertise apartments to rent as described above.

Received a call from this number claiming to be Microsoft saying that they've detected a problem with my computer and asked if I can switch on my computer. I refused and challenged them; caller eventually put me onto their "supervisor" and he asked me if I understood the nature of this call from Microsoft today but I told him that I didn't believe he was and he said "OK then f**k off" and I replied "Likewise" and hung up. Fraud - claimed to be VirginMedia. Claimed "illegal activity on line". threatened to cut off line. refused to confirm account details. became abusive when challenged.

Claims to be from VISA, and that Western Union debits were made from our account. Spurious.

SCAM This number called on my land line with a recoded message stating that my internet was to be cut off within the next 24 to 48 hours because of illegal activity. If I needed to speak to an executive manager I instructed to press 1 on my handset. The internet was not cut off nor has been interrupted. This is a scam.

Not sure who called but once I called back the number doesn’t work.

SPAM Person asked for a name that I have never heard of. I told him sorry, wrong number. He said "that's fine, what's your name please?" I said he doesn't need my name as he has called the wrong number and he got mad at me telling me that I'm rude and should tell him name. I hung up.

It’s from Russia and i suspect it’s a scam site but still anything from Russia I wouldn’t class as safe.
