I had the same problem I now have a BT Phone 8500 with call blocker and now I never get ANY nuisance callers I would recommend everyone to get one of these phones

Answered because it was a birimingham number which is common to me. Asked if I was my name . I said yes then we had a third party on the line saying no no no . Very strange and now blocked them.
SCAM / SPAM Highly likely! Claim to be from Inland Revenue. Missed call message left asking to call back urgently as warrant out for my arrest! and to press option 1. Rang pressed Option 1 someone answered “Inland Revenue” asked for name and address then hung up! I then withheld my number and called again left ringing for 4 minutes no one answered no recorded message kicked in. Inland Revenue really? On a bank holiday Monday! I don’t think so!
