These people are a damned nuisance. It is , as others have said, a market research company called nems . Their website offers this email address for requests to cease calling your number: [email protected] - remember to include your number in the email.

This number came up on a pop up box when trying to install a new version of Microsoft Office on a Mac. It said you needed to ring the number for help or you would lose the product. This is not the case and this company has no affiliation with Microsoft. It is a scam to get your credit card info and gain access to your computer. Run a separate Google search and ring Microsoft’s real helpline number if this happens to you. If you’ve already given them access to your computer ring Action Fraud.

Unsolicited call from a number I do not recognise. I pressed Answer and put my handset aside without speaking. Scottish male voice asked for me by my first name but he hung up after 14 seconds when I did not respond in any way. Noted from other sites that this may be a call from Spark Energy, trying to con the vulnerable into changing their utilities and they call repeatedly. I will continue to answer their calls with silence as then it is only their time and money being wasted.
