Like others on here, I frequently post things for sale on Gumtree. Today, after posting an item, I received a text from this number, asking me to contact them by email. Been called a couple of times from this number claiming I have money owed to me from a third party in my last crash. There was no third party involved, only myself, yet they keep on ringing and telling me this (presumably they want my bank details). I would urge anyone receiving calls from this number to report their experience to Action Fraud and Ofcom. This number belongs to a company called Allclaim Solutions, but they might call themselves ACS. You can use Truecaller to block calls. You will get notification that the number tried to call but when blocked it doesn t actually ring so you are not disturbed. You can pay by setting up direct debit and then cancel so not automatically taken following year. Don t take renewal quote...go on to AA site and get quote. Will be lower than renewal. Some organisations ie NHS get discount. Be smart. Play them at their own game.
